For my Comm2 people
Welcome to the Ideation process! Remember, you want to come up with as many ideas for solutions to your problem as possible. Don’t judge them, don’t worry about if you think they might work or not, or if they cost to much, or seem impractical. Don’t worry if they seem too simple, or too complex. We want to assemble as many ideas as we possibly can. You should all have at least...

CM, which was first organized and published by graduate students at the University of Michigan, began in 2003 as a forum that could help...

Dear Philly Government - Please fix your internet.
Two days in a row, I have tried to access websites maintained by the City of  Philadelphia. Both times, I have been incredibly disappointment. Both sites - The City of Philadelphia Revenue site and Bid Philly (a site for bidding on City Contracts) are only able to be used with Internet Explorer! We can see here that most people are using Firefox and Chrome. Let’s get with it Philly! We...

Engaging Millennials
I recently spoke on a panel hosted by the Pew Center for Arts and Heritage entitled Engaging Millennials: Beyond Social Media (or How Twitter Will Not Save Your Cultural Organization). Along with a group of fellow millennials, I spent an afternoon with representatives from 30 Philadelphia area arts organizations talking about ways to effectively engage new millennial audiences. We came to some...

thedobkinreport: featured in the current issue of Megawords Magazine and the Megawords installation at PAFA Anything worth noticing will be made obvious to a traveler. Why I was a terrible student, and why I will be a...
As an undergrad design student at the University of the Arts I tried just enough to get by. I believed that as long as I kept my grades slightly above average, I could coast through. I showed up for most classes, calculated how many absences I could accrue without serious penalty and completed enough work to avoid the instructor’s scrutiny.
